Highlighting and Contouring!!!

Hello my beauties!! Let's talk Highlighting and Contouring! I'm obsessed with this! If you have never done these steps to your makeup routine PLEASE PLEASE DO SO! It really makes a huge difference to your face. Okay, where do I begin? Contouring: Cast's a shadow to make your face appear sunken in and give more depth to the focus area where applied. Highlighting: Brings out and makes your face look more sharp and shaped to areas where applied. Depending on your skin type (oil or dry) You can use cream products to highlight and contour or you can use powders or even use both methods.
Steps:
1. Prime the face
2. Apply a light/medium coverage foundation to your face.
3. Apply a foundation two shades darker than your skin tone to the hollow points in your cheeks. (TIP: Suck in your cheeks and make a fishy face.) Also apply that contour to your temples, sides of nose and jaw line.
4. Then grab a concealer/foundation two shades lighter than your skin and put that on the highest points on your face; Forehead, under eyes in a V shape (see picture below for details), the bridge of your nose, cupids bow, chin and between the contour of your cheeks and jaw line.
5. Time to BLEND! I use a beauty blender for this step but you can also use a foundation brush. When blending, start with the contour first. Do not go CRAY CRAY on blending LOL! Just lightly start to stifle and pat with beauty blender/brush until your desired contour looks good then use a clean brush and/or other side of beauty blender to start with blending your highlight the same way :).
6. Now its time to set all this :). I always set with a contouring powder or matte bronzing powder on the places where I contoured and for the highlight areas use a translucent powder or a light powder to match your highlight color.
7. Now your done! Well...with the highlight and contouring that is! LOL. I know it sounds like a lot of work but it's really not! :) It's super easy and it's beautiful finish to the skin!
To help you get a better idea, here is a couple of detailed pictures:

Hope this was helpful for you guys and that you give this a try if you haven't ever Contoured or Highlighted before!

My FAV Face and Eye Primers!

Hello beauties!! I wanted to share with you all, my favorite face primer and eye primer at the moment!

So first off, my favorite Face Primer would have to be Benefit Cosmetics "The Porefessional". I'm so in love with this primer! If your like me and have big pores on your nose this primer instantly covers that right up :).
Tip: It's always best to use a face primer before putting your foundation, it keeps your foundation in place and lasts longer.

My favorite eye primer is Too Faced "Eye Shadow Insurance". This tube literally will last a long time. This eye primer is the best (in my opinion). A little of this goes along way.
Tip: Never apply too much eye primer, a little goes along way :).

So there you have it! My fav face and eye primers at the moment :).

I know it's been awhile since I've posted anything, Sorry you guys. With the holidays and of course me getting sick. I'm just getting back into gear with everything lol. I'm back now and excited for what 2014 will bring!
